Featuring more than 60 planes, this year's show marked the RAF's 90th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the Shropshire airfield.
People were treated to a Red Arrows display and flypasts by World War Two icons the Spitfire and Hurricane.
The huge popularity of the show meant motorists faced tailbacks on roads in and out of the show, while there were problems with overcrowded special trains.
Air show organising committee chairman Wing Commander Tony Legg, from Shrewsbury, said his personal highlight had been the Eurofighter Typhoon jet.
"It was amazing to see it fly close up now it's in active service," he said.
