Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra came to Shropshire to open the new Severn Hospice.

The site at Telford cost 5 million pounds complete and it aims to help people with progressive illness live as high a quality of life as possible.

The Princess was given a guided tour and after meeting the patients, volunteers and staff she officially opened the Hospice, based at Apley Castle, by unveiling a plaque.
