A Shrewsbury restaurant devastated by fire this year reopened today after a major refurbishment.
Pizza Hut, in the Meole Brace Retail Park, suffered thousands of pounds of damage when it was gutted by the blaze on May 27. Firefighters believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the roof.
But restaurant staff were celebrating today when the restaurant reopened following a charity evening last night which raised £2,000.
Guy Thompson, area manager for Pizza Hut, said: "The money will go to the local fire brigade charity and the World Food Programme, which is a charity we support."
Mr Thompson said the fire had come as a huge blow to the firm as it occurred only six months after a refurbishment programme had taken place.
Restaurant staff will also be inviting members of Shrewsbury's fire brigade to an official opening ceremony next week.
