A seat on Ludlow Town Council is up for grabs and there is uncertainty about another seat after two councillors resigned - but now one wants his place back.

Last month councillors Mickey Bradley and Graeme Perks resigned but council monitoring officer, Veronica Calderbank, found the letters were not legally sound.

She wrote to both councillors informing them of the legal procedure but Councillor Perks was the only one who then tended an official resignation letter.

Councillor Bradley then decided he did not wish to officially resign after all.

Today Ms Calderbank said: "Councillor Bradley was seen by three witnesses, including the mayor, walk into the town clerk's office where he handed in a letter to the clerk's assistant, stating it was his resignation.

She said that a week later he wrote saying he was "reconsidering his resignation". Ms Calderbank said she is taking independent legal advice.
