A BBC TV show based on a south Shropshire estate pulled in more viewers than Celebrity Big Brother during its first screening.
Victorian Farm, based at Acton Scott, near Church Stretton, attracted nearly three million viewers at the start of its six-week run on Thursday.
Executive producer David Upshal said: "The show performed extraordinarily well on Thursday, pulling in just short of three million viewers – and, this is the best part, managing to beat Celebrity Big Brother."
The show sees historians recreate farm life as it might have been in 1885.
