A mother today warned teenagers about going to Telford Town Park after her son was attacked by a gang of 15 hooded yobs armed with iron bars and baseball bats.
The woman, who declined to be named, said her son, 16, and two friends had to be taken to hospital after they were beaten with the weapons.
The attack happened between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on April 11, but the worried mother has only spoken out now after another two yout- hs were attacked in the park on Friday night – less than a week after her son was hurt.
Her 16-year-old son suffered broken teeth and cuts to his head. His 16-year-old friend and his 17-year-old girlfriend also suffered cuts and bruises.
She said: "They were set on by 15 lads when they were just setting back to come out of the park. These 15 youths in hoodies had iron bars and baseball bats.
"My son said he didn't want to run away from them in case it made it worse. My son suffered broken teeth and wounds to his face and head. They literally had to crawl away."
She said a woman called an ambulance and the gang fled the scene.
Her husband urged teenagers to be on their guard after another teenager and his friend were attacked on Friday night.
One of them needed hospital treatment. "It is a dangerous place to go," he said.
Telford police spokesman Chris Ammonds said officers were investigating and urged witnesses to call police on 0300 333 3000.
