A low-pitched humming noise reported by residents in Church Stretton could just be down to over sensitive hearing, experts have revealed.

Research carried out by scientists at Cambridge's Addenbrooke Hospital revealed the "Stretton hum" so many residents seem to hear could be a result of their own hearing.

Many residents in the region have complained of hearing the low-pitched background noise for more than a decade.

David Baguley, head of audiology at the hospital, has been leading the research.
