jared-hodgkissA full-back who has graced the Premier Leagues of England and Scotland in the past three years has boosted Market Drayton Town's UniBond League assault - for the time being at least.

Jared Hodgkiss made his Drayton debut in Saturday's 3-0 division one south victory over Brigg Town and is again expected to feature tonight when Kidsgrove visit Greenfields in the UniBond League President's Cup (7.45pm).

The 22-year-old was released by West Bromwich Albion last summer having spent four years with the Baggies.

He made his Premiership debut during a 2-2 draw at Everton in May 2006, and has since played a handful of Championship, FA Cup and Carling Cup games for the Black Country outfit.

He spent spells last season on loan at Northampton in League One and Aberdeen, playing in a 3-2 SPL defeat at Celtic last September.

Drayton boss Simon Line was remaining relatively coy over his new addition.

"It's come about just through contacts with one or two people and the situation is that, on a short-term basis, Jared is available to play for us," said Line.

Drayton manager Line has confirmed there will be changes to his line-up tonight, although that will be dictated by injuries.

As well as the long-term casualties, Grant Goodhead, Paul McMullen, Jason Frances, Tom Rogers and Nicky Porter all played with knocks on Saturday.

"It's not an ideal situation so we will be having a head count tonight, seeing who is available," he added.
