Greenhous closes 'dated' Welshpool car dealership
Car chain Greenhous has announced that it is to close a dealership in Mid Wales.
The Shrewsbury-headquartered firm acquired the Waterloo Place dealership in Welshpool from WR Davies as part of a double deal which also gave it a site in Newtown last year.
The company has invested heavily in upgrading its site in Newtown, including the opening of a new Ford Transit centre, but the company said the Welshpool site was "dated" and in a poor position.
The business will now be relocated to Newtown, and Greenhous said it was attempting to "minimise redundancies".
Greenhous Ford dealer principal Tony Mellish said: "Greenhous will work to ensure that the transition from Welshpool to Newtown is as seamless as possible."
Staff from the dealership have been offered the chance to move to other jobs, with some finding new roles locally to keep redundancies to a minimum.
