The family favourite is to be performed by members of Market Drayton Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.

Featuring a cast of local people, members have been busy rehearsing for the show, which will be held from October 15 to 17 in the Festival Drayton Centre.

Suzanne Edwards, Market Drayton Amdrams spokeswoman, said: "We are in the final stages of preparation for the play of the popular TV comedy series.

"The play is so hilarious that the cast have found it very difficult to stop laughing during rehearsals.

"There are now only a few single seats left for Saturday's performance and most of Thursday and Friday seats are now sold."

The Vicar of Dibley was a BBC sitcom created by Richard Curtis and was aired from 1994 to 2007.

Tickets costing £8.50 for adults and £7.50 for concessions are available by calling (01630) 654444.
