Pics and video: Ed Sheeran joins Radio One's Scott Mills at Harper Adams Uni
He's normally hobnobbing with the A-list and jetsetting all over the world - but for one day only, Ed Sheeran was just metres away from a handful of Harper Adams University students in Shropshire.
The internationally famous singer-songwriter was guest of honour of the Scott Mills Show, who were recording their Radio One show live as part of their Student Tour.
Ed, who was the biggest selling solo artist of last year, appeared at the college as a surprise guest, along with his friend fellow singer Jamie Lawson.
The pair were close to the university and appeared at the college after receiving a message from Mills on the social networking site Twitter.
Sporting a Harper Adams gilet for much of the broadcast, Ed was even auctioned off by students in a faux livestock auction in the grounds - where fake bids reached up to £12,000 - describing the experience as "weird."
He was also present to watch Mills' one-off Harper Adams dating show "Pull the Udder One" featuring university students including 19-year-old Seth Bird, who was dubbed "Shed Sheeran" for his likeness to the singer.
Along with his team, fellow DJ Chris Stark, Scott Mills has hit the road for a student tour, which sees him visit five universities in one week.
He started his tour at Striling Uni. in Scotland then yesterday he was in Liverpool and after leaving Newport was off to Aberystwyth.
He said: "It was a great show.
"I couldn't wait to bring the show to Harpers as they are always a good crowd.
"And I can't believe we got Ed Sheeran here.
"I just sent him a direct message on Twitter and he said he was in the area and brought Jamie Lawson with him."
