But now they are a town's first orchestra, led by a professional conductor.
Bridgnorth Sinfonia has been growing in popularity with residents since their inception and now members are busy preparing for their first concert of 2016.

The group, which meets at St John's Church Hall, have been rehearsing ahead of the show at St Mary's Church on January 30, where they will be performing a range of classical pieces. Volinist Kate Bedford said:
"We had our first concert in 2012 in Bridgnorth and that is really how we became a sort-of professional orchestra."
The group, made up of students, music teachers and enthusiasts, is led by conductor Dr James Ross, from Oxford.
Tickets for the concert, starting at 7.30pm, are £8, and free for students and under-16s.
