Kylie Minogue to wed former Shrewsbury School pupil Joshua Sasse
He is the former Shrewsbury School pupil who once had a crush on Kylie Minogue.
And now Joshua Sasse has announced that he and the Australian pop star are to be married.
There are two decades between the two, but it appears Kylie has finally found happiness.
The I Should Be So Lucky singer, 47, revealed the upcoming nuptials with the 28-year-old actor through an announcement in a national newspaper.
It came less than 48 hours after Mr Sasse sent fans into a frenzy when he was overhead calling Minogue his fiancee at the NME Awards.
Mr Sasse, whose family is based in Herefordshire, spent four years studying at Shrewsbury School. Friends have said he had a crush on Kylie during his teens.
Kylie met her husband-to-be in September and she has spoken publicly about their romance, as well as appearing at showbiz events sporting a glittering jewel on her wedding finger.
In December the star was a castaway on BBC's Desert Island Disks, when her lover surprised her with a reading of a love poem penned by his father, poet Dominic Sasse.
Family is important to Josh, who became a dad at the age of 25 when his then girlfriend Francesca Cini gave birth to Sebastian, now two.
His passion for fatherhood stems in part from the fact that he was only five when his own dad died.
Poet and adventurer Dominic Sasse was on a flight to Nepal which crashed into a hill killing all 167 passengers on board. Josh has a tattoo of the number 37 — his dad's age when he died — as a reminder "to live life every day because it might end at any moment".
Josh's mother Mary later remarried and sent Josh to board at Shrewsbury School, where he picked up a love for acting.
After studying performing arts at college in Surrey and Exeter, he landed a role in the 2010 gangster film Big I Am. Since then he has starred in Mamma Mia! in the West End and horror film Frankenstein's Army, but is best known for his role in the musical comedy Galavant, where he met Kylie.
