The new area named Little Swifts, aimed at children aged under five, is now open to people visiting the museum.

It has been developed by a team of students at City of Wolverhampton College, who are studying for a range of early years qualifications.

With assistance from the museum's education assistant, students were tasked by the museum to come up with ideas for an activity area, located underneath the wings of the Vulcan inside the National Cold War Exhibition.

With a budget of £1,500, students worked in small teams to research suitable early-learning activities that were in keeping with the museums aviation focus.

RAF Museum Cosford education assistant, Julie Brierley said: "They came up with some fantastic suggestions and we selected ideas from each proposal, meaning that all students contributed to what we have on offer."
