She is on the lookout for someone to buy the rare Raffin barrel organ, which is worth about £11,000.

Following Ken Randles' death in January, Katrina has gradually been clearing his home and came across the organ that he used to take and play at fairs and festivals across the region.

"It is the green sunflower model," said Katrina, 57, from Gains Park, Shrewsbury.

"Dad bought it in the 1980s and it is around 40 years old.

"He and my mum had four children and once we had left home he needed a hobby and the organ was it.

"He also had a harmonette, which was a street organ that could be taken almost anywhere. I remember him taking the barrel organ with him to the seaside and my daughter Michelle would rather stay with him than come and play on the sand."

Katrina's father raised hundreds of pounds for local charities and for the coronary care unit where she works.

"He just used to love playing it," she said. "He was always raising money for one charity or another and he thoroughly enjoyed playing it."

Now Katrina is hoping to find the much loved organ a new home. "It is worth a lot of money and is in good condition but I am open to offers," she added.
