The Severn Valley Country Park will be welcoming fungus experts to lead a trail through the park to find the different types of fungi that it holds.

Foragers may even be able to find a few edible mushrooms while taking in the sights.

Jo Weightman, from Hereford Fungus Survey Group, will lead two walks, where she will talk attendees through their finds.

Susie Comaish, visitor centre manager at the country park, said: "We held this last year and, on the two walks, Jo found about 35 different types of fungi so we're clearly a great place for people to come and look for different types.

"Jo goes out with a basket and gathers different types of fungi from around the park and explains to people what they are.

"When you are foraging, you have to be careful with fungi, some can be really tasty but others are not so."

There will be places for 15 people per session on October 24, with two walks taking place from 10am to noon and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Anyone who would like to take part should drop into the centre or call to reserve a space on 01746 781192.
