Total Wipeout star Amanda Byram will be among a team of celebrities stopping off in Shrewsbury tomorrow as part of Team Ireland's marathon Sport Relief challenge.

The star will be cycling through the county as part of a team that includes celebrity gardener Diarmuid Gavin and TV presenter Craig Doyle.

They plan to travel 1,000 miles around the UK in a week by running, cycling and sailing.

Team Ireland is competing against teams from England, Wales and Scotland in the First Nation Home challenge, with the likes of rugby ace Josh Lewsey, skier Alain Baxter and boxer Joe Calzaghe taking part.

Amanda and other team members will be taking a breather from their fundraiser by paying a visit to see pupils and staff at Shrewsbury High School during their visit.

The stage being tackled by the Irish team tomorrow will see them try to get from Cardiff to Liverpool on foot and by bike.

The same stage was completed by Team England on Sunday, with presenter Phil Spencer and Dame Ellen MacArthur passing through the county.
