Title-winning Shropshire football star Joe Hart has landed a whopping £250,000 bonus after he helped Manchester City win the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.

England number 1 Hart, 25, has been in superb form for City, who clinched the title in extraordinary fashion yesterday – scoring twice in injury time to beat bitter Manchester rivals United on goal difference.

It has been reported that each member of the City squad was promised the quarter of a million pound bonus if they clinched the trophy. The former Meole Brace school head boy, who signed for City from Shrewsbury Town in 2006, celebrated wildly at the final whistle.

Hart described winning the Premier League title as a "proud" moment after Sergio Aguero's dramatic winner ended their 44-year wait for England's top prize.

Hart said: "This means the world for these fans. We need to do it again. Let's do it again."
