Two men accused of selling teenagers for prostitution were arrested after concerns were raised by teachers, parents and social workers about sexual abuse and exploitation of girls in the Telford area, a court was told.
A jury at Stafford Crown Court was told that the parents of one of the alleged victims had been "at their wits end" over her behaviour.
The court heard that in 2007 when she was 14 the girl had started to drink alcohol, smoke cannabis, skip school and stay away from home overnight.
During this time she had met Ahdel Ali, who was known as Eddie, and met him again some time later when her life was totally chaotic.
Miss Deborah Gould, prosecuting, said that Eddie had sex with the girl in his car when she was 15.
The teenager later met Mubarek Ali, known as Max, through his brother and began having sex with him on a regular basis.
It is claimed that Ahdel Ali, 24, and 29-year-old Mubarek had both variously sexually abused, raped, trafficked, prostituted or tried to prostitute teenagers.
Miss Gould said police issued a Child Abduction Notice on Mubarek Ali to keep away from the girl, but the contact continued.
"The attraction of Max and Eddie for the girl was them buying her drink, cigarettes, mobile phone top-ups, gave her cannabis and took her out," said Miss Gould.
The girl did not see it as a return for sex, but the relationship later changed and the girl realised she was "a commodity they could sell" and the defendants were charging people for sexual activity with the teenager.
The men deny a total of 26 allegations involving the sexual exploitation of the teenage girls.
Ahdel Ali denies an allegation of rape, 11 allegations of sexual activity with a child, three charges of controlling child prostitution, two of inciting child prostitution, an allegation of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and meeting a child after grooming.
Mubarek Ali denies four charges of controlling child prostitution, two of trafficking in the UK for sexual exploitation and a charge of causing child prostitution.
The trial continues.
