Injured driver is trapped as car overturns in four-vehicle crash on M54
A man was trapped in his car which overturned following a four-vehicle crash on the M54.
He escaped with minor injuries following the accident which caused delays for motorists last night.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on the westbound carriageway, between junction six for Telford West and junction seven for Wellington, just before 7.15pm.
Police, fire and ambulance went to the scene and firefighters cut the injured man free. His vehicle had overturned during the incident.
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "One person was trapped and had to be cut free by firefighters."
The West Midlands motorway police said just one man was injured.
"He suffered minor injuries," a spokeswoman said.
One lane of the motorway heading into Shropshire was closed for 90 minutes while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
The lane was reopened at about 9pm.
The crash caused tailbacks of up to 20 minutes.
