Shrewsbury Flower Show in top ten gardening shows
Shrewsbury Flower Show bosses are celebrating after the event was named among the top 10 gardening shows in the country.
A poll of more than 2,000 readers by consumer magazine Which? saw 78 per cent of respondents rate the annual event in The Quarry as either 'very good' or 'excellent', putting it in sixth place on the leader board and above the likes of the Chelsea Flower Show.
Brian Goodwin, Shropshire Horticultural Society chairman, said he was thrilled with the accolade.
He said: "As we enter our 126th year its refreshing to know that our visitors continue to enjoy the event, and that we have succeeded in our efforts to make it a great value day out for the whole family."
Praise for the show included respondents calling it good value for money with 'an enjoyable programme of events'. This year's show is on August 9 and 10.
