Thousands visit Weston Park model air show
Thousands of people visited Weston Park for the annual model air show.
The Wrekin Model Flying Club staged the event from Friday until yesterday.
Model helicopter flyers gave displays of heli acrobatics and the flying school gave novices the chance to get their hands on the controls.
The event also featured a model boat regatta, model car racing, a fun fair and more than 100 trade stalls.
The climax was a mock Blitz in the park, when fireworks were set off among a miniature town, as remote-controlled aircraft circled and swung around the model scene.
Ken Dallow attended the show for the eighth time but for the first occasion with a model aircraft of his own.
The 74-year-old retired engineer attended with his scale replica of a Sopwith Pup, which was used in the First World War around 1917.
He said: "This is my first time with a model aeroplane, but I've been coming here for years. It's always fantastic and you see a lot of high quality scale models."
Jez Harris, who lives in Birmingham, brought his scratch-built model of a Nieuport 28, which had taken about two years to build.
