Sue and Mal Tipton thought their family business would suffer when proposals were put forward to build turbines to the east of the kennels and Shrewsbury Golf Club.

But the controversial scheme received more then 100 objections from residents and organisations, including the Ministry of Defence and England Golf, and was thrown out by Shropshire Council planners.

Mr and Mrs Tipton, who run Moorland Kennels and Greyhound rescue, said they could not be more relieved. They feared the noise from the turbines could "distress" nervous rescue dogs in their care.
