Police release new CCTV images after £60,000 Shrewsbury shops burglary
New images were today released of two men police want to speak to about a brazen £60,000 burglary of a Shrewsbury shopping centre.
Officers believe the two were in The Parade Shopping Centre in St Marys Place before the shops were broken into.
CCTV images from the shopping centre showed two men browsing around the shopping precinct before choosing what to steal.
Today's images show the faces of men detectives believe may hold the key to their investigation.
Pc Adrian Davies, one of the investigating officers, said: "Having checked CCTV footage, the two men were in The Parade that day and may have seen suspicious activity linked to these crimes. We would like to speak to them to see if they have any information which might help the investigation.
"We are also hoping they will be recognised from the images and appealing to anyone who thinks they can identify them, to also get in touch."
Inquiries are continuing into the break-ins at Rocked Silver Jewellers, the Bill Leighton Photographic Studio, Revive Health Spa and The Snug coffee shop.
It is believed they happened between 9pm and 10.15pm on Tuesday May 20. The glass door to the jewellers was smashed and various pieces, worth £50,000, stolen.
A window was broken at the Bill Leighton premises and four Nikon cameras and various lenses worth around £10,000 taken. Cash was stolen from Revive and some food from the café.
More than £1,000 damage was caused to the four shops.
One man is described as Asian, of slim build, about 5ft 10ins with short or shaved dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit or combat style bottoms, dark training shoes, a light grey hooded top with the word Adidas across the chest and carrying a dark rucksack with light blue panels.
The other is white, about 5ft 10ins to 6ft, of slim build and was wearing a dark blue baseball type cap, dark tracksuit bottoms, dark jumper or coat and navy blue trainers.
