Fire crews tackle huge barn blaze

Fire crews worked through the night after a barn filled with 300 tonnes of hay and straw went up in flames.

Firefighters were still at the building on Offoxey Lane in Tong this morning damping down.

The barn and its contents caught fire at about 11.30pm last night.

Fire crews were sent from Albrighton.

They worked through the night using hoses to bring the 10-metre square blaze under control and remained on the site this morning. It is not yet known how the barn caught fire.
