They have produced a song in memory of fallen soldiers and it has already reached the top of the iTunes Christmas chart.

The pair, from Kinver, near Bridgnorth, now hope the song, called 1914 – The Carol of Christmas, will reach an even wider audience in the run up to Christmas.

It was composed by 56-year-old Chris, who composed Cliff Richard's Christmas hit Saviour's Day alongside Judd Field.

And all proceeds from the song will go to Armed Forces charities.

Abby, 29, has a solo on the single and forms part of an ensemble of voices and soloists including Flight Lieutenant Matt Little and 12-year-old Canterbury Cathedral chorister and Radio 2's Young Chorister of the Year finalist, William Inscoe.

Members of the RAF Spitfire Choir also perform on the song, which was filmed at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey.

Mrs Scott, who has two-year-old son, Beau, with her husband, and works part time in Tea & Roses in Bridgnorth High Street, said: "We were watching a documentary about 1914 in trenches and how everyone stopped fighting one Christmas Day to sing Silent Night.

"Chris was so inspired he felt he had to write a song about it.

"We were soon contacted by the RAF who fell in love with it and later William Inscoe and Flight Lieutenant Matt Little were on board.

"It's great to be involved in such a great cause and it's inspired me to look into my own history to see how the war affected my family, because every one of us has been affected by conflict in some way.

"I also represent the everyday person in the song because I couldn't imagine sending my son off to war, or saying goodbye to my husband."

She added: "We really believe this song could climb up all the charts.

"Everyone who has listened to it has fallen in love with it."

Mrs Scott added: "It's a huge honour to be involved in this song and share the message of peace at Christmas.

Proceeds from sales will go to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and ABF The Soldier's Charity, and it is hoped it will make the top of the chart. The song can be downloaded through Amazon and iTunes.
