Ambulance crews used a spinal board and neck collar and took the woman to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital after the crash at 1.30pm.

Two fire crews and an operations officer from Shrewsbury went to the scene and made the vehicle safe using small gear.

Firefighters also used a thermal image camera to check the surrounding area for any potential hotspots and left the scene just before 2pm.

Chris Kowalik, spokesman for West Midland Ambulance Service, said: "We received a call just after 1.20pm to a road traffic collision at the junction of Knights Way and Huffley Lane. We sent one ambulance crew. A woman in her 60s was out of the car they arrived. She had a cut to her hand and a head injury.
