Car catches fire in Shrewsbury

A fire broke out in a car in Shrewsbury.

Crews were called to the vehicle in Castlefields to deal with the blaze shortly before 11pm yesterday.

A hose reel jet was used to put out the flames. There have been no reported injuries.

Earlier in the evening, crews were called to a property in Oswestry after a small amount of rubbish, hedgerow and timber caught fire.

Three crews were on the scene in Porth Y Waen, Llanyblodwel at about 8.30pm.

The fire took about an hour to put out.
