MoD Donnington traffic chaos caused by 'misunderstanding' at base
A misunderstanding at Telford's military base today caused traffic chaos for motorists during the morning rush hour.

Queues built up outside MoD Donnington from about 8.30am after a security gate was closed while the issue was resolved, causing tailbacks as staff tried to get in to work.
The delays began building up around the A518 New Trench Road at the Garrison Island and police were called to direct traffic.
But the incident was just a "misunderstanding". Sharna Roberts, a spokesperson for the MoD said: "In line with well-established procedure, a security gate was temporarily closed so that a misunderstanding about pass access could be resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
