London to Shrewsbury train stopped after man killed on the line
A Shrewsbury bound train service has been halted in the Midlands following a fatality on the line.
The 10.23 Virgin train from London Euston to Shrewsbury stopped outside Dudley Port at about 12pm and passengers have been told it was because someone had been hit by a train.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We were called to Dudley Port station shortly after 12pm following reports a person had been struck by a train.
"Colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene. We are trying to confirm his identity, and will inform his family.
"Officers are not treating the man's death as suspicious, but will prepare a file for the coroner."
The train will now terminate at Wolverhampton.
