Animal magic! Shropshire couple celebrate first anniversary of TV wedding

Shropshire couple Scott and Verity Adams are still going strong, one year after their wedding was featured on TV's Don't Tell The Bride.

They were today marking their one-year anniversary and say it has been a happy year. For her big day Verity, 26, put all her trust in Scott, 32, when they decided to take part in the BBC3 show.

The couple were separated for three weeks and Scott was given a budget of £12,000 to plan the perfect day.

And with Scott being a rock star turned exotic zoo keeper, it was no surprise his animal instincts got the better of him with a jungle-themed bash.

"I ended up spending around £1,800 on giant plastic animals, which meant there wasn't a lot of money left for the dress," he said. "But I think I was clever because those giant animals are used every day at Lakeside Plant Centre, in Priorslee, whereas the dress is in a box in the loft."

"It was a great day and we are still going strong a year on. We celebrated our anniversary on Mother's Day so everywhere was busy, so we ended up going to Southwater and having a few cocktails."

Scott is the lead singer of rock band Envy of the State, which toured all over America and he also runs Telford Exotic Zoo in Donnington Wood.
