Despite having tragically lost Stephen in 2009 and having worked on their own solo projects over the years, the foursome are still going strong and will head to Telford this summer.

In an interview with the Shropshire Star, band member Shane urged Boyzone fans from the area to remember their "dancing shoes" and best "singing voices".

He said that when the Irish boyband were asked to headline Telford's Town Park Arena in June, the decision was a "no brainer".

"I think the boys and I have been on a lot of arena tours, but last year we had the pleasure of performing outdoor shows in the summer, which were a great success.

"So when we were asked to perform an outdoor concert in Telford, it was a no brainer really, so we said yes," Shane added.

The band, from North Dublin, have been around since 1993 and have had 16 consecutive top five singles including "Love Me For A Reason" and "Picture of You".

As well as six number ones including "A Different Beat", "No Matter What" and "When The Going Gets Tough".

The band will play many of these songs when they headline the show at the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena, Telford on June 27.

Shane said: "We haven't performed in Telford before, but we have played the NEC in Birmingham a few times and the Midlands crowds are always fantastic, so the show in June is one we are really looking forward too.

"It will be a fantastic experience for our fans, and with 22 years of us being a band we have so many songs to choose from, but I can say you will be singing along to every song, and the fans will love it."
