Banners to advertise the Market Drayton Rock and Bowl Festival were put up this week and have already been removed.

Jeremy Blandford, one of the organisers, said: "Sadly the banners we put up to tell passing motorists about our little festival have been taken from most of the sites we erected them.

"We don't know the reason but if anyone can shed any light we would be very grateful.

"We would like to offer a weekend family ticket to anyone who can message the team with information on discovering the whereabouts of the banners and their return."

The banners were located at Ternhill, along the bypass at Market Drayton and on fencing/signs near Tunstall.

About 4,000 people are expected to attend the Rock and Bowl Festival in Market Drayton.

Now in its sixth year, this year's event will be held in the picnic area in Newport Road between May 24 and 26.

Last year's event saw 3,500 people attend and this year organisers expect to attract even more.

The festival was launched in 2009 to fill the void left by the cancellation of Market Drayton's carnival and all the money raised by the event goes to support local charities.
