Teenager spends five days in hospital after Telford baseball bat attack

A teenager spent two days in hospital after five men attacked him with a baseball bat and bottle.

The 18-year-old victim was cycling in Silkin Way, near to Telford Rugby Club at the rear of Telford Town Park, when a group of men approached him.

They then attacked him with a baseball bat and a bottle, leaving the victim with serious injuries that required stitches.

Police say the attack was unprovoked and are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the incident on Tuesday at about 9pm.

Nothing was taken from the victim during the attack but they were demanding his mobile phone from him.

The victim managed to struggle free and escape the attackers.

Three of the men were aged 19 to 20. One was Asian, about 6ft 4ins and wearing a black jacket. The other two were white. The first had a shaved head, was around 6ft tall and was wearing a dark hooded top. The second was around 6ft 2ins and also had shaved hair and was wearing a dark hooded top.

Witnesses are urged to call 101 Police are eager to trace those responsible. Call 101, quoting incident 663S of April 14.
