Ellesmere residents without water for four hours after mains burst

Residents and businesses in Ellesmere found themselves with no water after a pipe burst.

It happened yesterday morning leaving many households with low water pressure and others with no water at all.

Severn Trent Water sent engineers out to repair the pipe and restore the supply to most of the people affected, and sent tankers to help get the remaining customers' supplies returned.

Supply was restored within four hours. Workers remained on site to repair the water main completely.

A spokeswoman for Severn Trent Water said: "We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially at this time of day, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused."
