Around 10 officers searched a house in Ketley, where they found a large quantity of cannabis ready to be sold or used.

No plants were recovered at the property but a number of other items were also seized during the raid this morning.

The warrant was carried out after police were given information by local residents about suspicious activity being carried out at the property.

Officers said they would like to thank the public for their help.

Pc Keverne Maxwell, safer neighbourhood officer for Ketley and Oakengates, said "We would like to thank the residents of the Ketley area for coming forward with information that has enabled us to obtain a search warrant from local magistrates.

"As a result of today's raid, a quantity of cannabis ready for sale or use, along with a number of other items have been seized and one person was arrested."

Pc Maxwell added "We would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Ketley for their continued support in tackling the fight against drugs which brings so much harm, not only to our area, but to communities across the West Mercia force and beyond."

The warrant was carried out by police officers from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team based at Donnington Police Station

Police are unable at this time to put a value on the amount of cannabis seized.

Anyone with information which can help officers clamp down on the sale or production of drugs, is asked to call police on 101.
