Broken Telford Town Centre clock is the tock of the mall

And because the repair needs a made-to-measure piece of machinery, the Sherwood Square clock – which marks each passing hour by setting off a spinning wheel, music, and a toad that blows bubbles – is likely to be out of action for days.

Chris Jones, centre director, said: "There is currently a technical fault with the clock.

"The timepiece is approaching its 20th year and the repair required includes a very bespoke item that has taken time to source and create.

"We are hopeful that it will be back up and running very soon and thank our visitors for their patience while the repairs take place."
