Telford's new Conservative MP Lucy Allan has made her maiden speech in the House of Commons.

Describing Telford as "an extraordinary, vibrant new town" with an independent spirit, she also paid tribute to her predecessor, Labour's David Wright.
She told her followers on Facebook: "Today I gave my first speech in Parliament. I spoke about Telford's past, its future, and the inspirational story of Captain Webb."
