The raid was carried out in Burford by the Brookside Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The officers executed a warrant to search the property at around 6pm.

A spokesman for the team said they had arrested a man and seized what was described as a "large" amount of cannabis in the raid.

It is the second raid carried out by the team in a matter of days after officers from the Telford South Safer Neighbourhood Team seized cannabis from a property at Blakemore, Brookside, earlier this week.

On that occasion police had been given a tip-off and a man was cautioned as a result of the find.

Sergeant David Braid, said: "We do our best to listen to our community and respond to their concerns.

"Drug taking and dealing can wreck families, and it can cause misery for individuals as well as anti-social behaviour within our estates and neighbourhoods.

"Some individuals make a lot of money from the sale of drugs and they do not care about the harm they cause.

"Please continue to let us know about any strange smells or out of the ordinary comings and goings from addresses and we will do the rest."
