A 27-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody after a raid on a property in the Hollinswood area.

Police officers found 243 cannabis plants at the home that were described as "mature".

Temporary police sergeant Darren Stacey, of West Mercia Police's Malinsgate safer neighbourhood team, said it was believed the plants had a "potential yield of over £200,000".

He added policing teams from across the borough were involved in the raid at about 9am yesterday.

The man in custody, who lives locally, was arrested on suspicion of production of a class B controlled substance.
