The Irish boyband showed they could still draw in the crowds after 22 years together, as around 7,000 people headed to Telford Town Park.

Following performances by Telford's The Rooz and Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, the foursome belted out a number of their hit singles including Love Me For A Reason, Words and Picture Of You.

The sun shone on the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena as live music, stalls and children's activities entertained families, hen parties and fans of all ages. In a video message recorded exclusively for Shropshire Star readers, band members Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham said: "Hello there, Shropshire Star readers. It's an absolute pleasure to be here, performing in Telford tonight and please keep up your support for Boyzone. The Midlands Rock."

It was the first time the band performed in Shropshire and Mikey added that they would love to return in the future. The band kept the crowds roaring with their mix of old and new songs, outfit changes and dance routines.

It's been more than 20 years since the foursome, along with the late Stephen Gately who died in 2009, arrived on the scene as Boyzone.

And Telford proved that they've still got a huge fan base. Borough councillor Shaun Davies said: "It was great to be in Telford Town Park on Saturday. The place was buzzing."

The band, from north Dublin, have been around since 1993 and had 16 consecutive top five singles.
