Teenager left with serious head injuries after Shrewsbury street robbery

A teenager was knocked unconscious and left with serious head injuries after a robbery on a Shrewsbury street.

Police are seeking witnesses and information to the robbery which took place on Ditherington Road area in the early hours of Sunday morning between 3.21am and 3.30am.

The victim, a 19 year-old man had been walking along Ditherington Road, as he reached the old bus depot land near to Sultan Road, he has been approached by two men who walked over to him from the other side of the road.

One of the men has asked if he had any money, when he said he didn't have any, this lead to the victim being assaulted and losing consciousness.

He received serious injuries to his head and ear, and when he came to, his wallet a Black Armani Wallet containing loose change, photo card driving licence and Santander Debit Card had all been stolen from his person.

It is unknown what direction the offenders went when fleeing the scene.

A police spokesman described the the two male suspects.

They said: "Suspect one - a white male in his 20s, of a thin build, around 5 ft 7 inches in height, with blond hair and wearing a long sleeve blue check shirt and blue jeans.

"Suspect two - a white male in his 20s, of a thin build, around 5 ft 7 inches in height, with very short blond hair and wearing black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms. He had been carrying a dark coloured rucksack and had a Shrewsbury accent."
