Hearse damaged in crash on Oswestry road

A two-car crash left this hearse damaged and stranded at the side of a country road near Oswestry today.

The hearse was involved in a collision with a 4x4 on Trefonen Road in Morda at about 3.15pm.

Police were called to the crash at the junction for Llansilin and ambulance crews and Highways England officials attended the scene.

Police confirmed that the hearse was not carrying a coffin and photos showed it was left with significant damage to the headlight and wheel on the driver's side.

No-one was hurt in the crash but the road was blocked while recovery work took place.

The road was clear again shortly before 6pm, when police tweeted:
