The supermarket giant is currently advertising for staff for its new Pride Hill branch which will open in September.

The former O2 shop is undergoing a transformation to turn it in to a Tesco Express.

Jobs range from stock control to wages and customer services. All the positions are part-time.

Tesco already has a large Extra store on the former cattle market site in Harlescott and an Express outlet in Ditherington, which opened in April 2012.

As well as selling groceries, the convenience store will be able to sell alcohol from Monday to Sunday from 6am to 11pm and there will also be an ATM and an onsite bakery.

A spokesman for Tesco said: "We are very much looking forward to serving our customers and the local community and we can not wait to get started."

He added that the new store, which will create approximately 20 jobs, will open in the first week of September.
