Witnesses wanted after serious Shropshire crash

Police are asking for witnesses to a serious crash between a car and a lorry on the A442 in Crudgington yesterday.

The crash happened at the Crudgington Crossroads at around 1.30pm when a red Citreon Saxo was driving on the B5062 towards the crossroads when it crashed with a red and white lorry heading southbound on the A442.

The rear passenger of the Saxo, an 18 year-old man, was airlifted to Stoke Hospital, where he is not thought to have suffered life changing injuries.

The driver and the front seat passenger suffered minor injuries, and were taken to Stoke Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital respectively. The driver of the HGV was not injured.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen either vehicle beforehand to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0311S of August 7.
