Isobelle Charlotte Woodall, 19, from Belan, near Welshpool, died following the crash in Wigan.

Her family today paid tribute to her, saying she was loved by everyone who knew her.

In a statement, they said: "Isobelle was a happy, fun loving and affectionate girl who at 19 years of age was just finding her place in the world.

"She was loved by everyone who knew her.

"As a family we have been left bereft at her leaving us but she will always be alive in our hearts."

Isobelle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Central Parkway in the town at 9.15pm on Sunday, August 16.

It is believed she was travelling with her boyfriend Steven as a passenger in a black Peugeot 206 which was in collision with a white Ford Focus ST.

Earlier, Isobelle's sister Emily paid tribute on Facebook, saying: "As the car crashed Isobelle was taken from us too soon and was killed on impact.

"There is no doubt that Isobelle will be greatly missed in all our lives. I am sure she will be looking down on us.

"Even though she is no longer here with us she will forever be alive in our hearts."

An inquest was opened and adjourned at Bolton Coroner's Court on Thursday.

A full hearing will be held on a date to be confirmed.

The Peugeot driver, a 27-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 27-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Ford also sustained serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis.

The 38-year-old driver of the Ford was initially arrested at the scene before being taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries to his arm and body, including a fractured pelvis.

Investigators want to speak to the driver of a car described as an "old type" Ford Fiesta.

Great Manchester Police said it is still appealing for witnesses to come forward by calling 0161 856 4742.
