Several cars damaged by fire, lorry crash and car overturns overnight

Several cars were damaged by fire, a lorry crashed on a busy route and a person was left trapped when a car overturned in a spate of incidents overnight.

Firefighters were called to the B4363 near Oldbury, Bridgnorth at about 10pm.

Four crews from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington attended the crash and helped one person from the car.

They then turned the vehicle back the right way and made sure it was safe.

Crews were off the scene at 10.30pm.

Elsewhere, several cars were damaged after a fire that broke out in Shrewsbury.

Two crews from Shrewsbury fire station were called to Old Potts Way at about 12.15am after reports of a fire in the open.

Firefighters said "several" cars were damaged by the blaze which is believed to be accidental. The fire was put out by 1am. A lorry crash on a busy route blocked the road in a village near Ludlow.

Firefighters were called to the A49 in Woofferton at about 5.20am after reports of a fuel leak or small spillage on the road.

On arrival, the crew found a crash involving a HGV and made the vehicle safe.

The road was partially blocked while crews worked. Crews were off the scene by 5.50am.
