Oswestry manufacturer moving to bigger plant

One of Oswestry's manufacturing companies is moving to bigger premises within the town.

Guttercrest, which makes aluminium rainwater products for the construction industry has bought a 40,000 square-foot complex on the Oswestry Industrial Estate and hopes to relocate from its current headquarters on Victoria Road early next year.

The expansion plans also include investing an additional £3 million in state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment so that it can further extend its product range which currently includes fascias, soffits and wall coping systems.

Today a spokesman for Guttercrest, which employs 50 staff, said it was keeping its current premises which would now be marketed for rent'To Let'.

Managing director, Mr Gary Power said that the purchase of of a 40,000 square-feet facility, the former Elements Europe factory would allow the company to offer its customers an enhanced service with the company planning to install high-bay racking storage systems to increase stock levels and improve distribution facilities.

"This is a very exciting time in Guttercrest's history," he said.

"The planned expansion will allow us to offer an improved service to our customers and also enable us to manufacture and deliver both our standard and bespoke product ranges rapidly to meet the challenges of today's fast track construction projects."

Mr Power said that work had already begun on the site on the industrial estate to prepare the new premises.

The move is scheduled to take place in the early months of 2016.
