Teenager suffers head injury after being hit by car in Telford

A teenager has been taken to hospital with a head injury after he was hit by car in Telford.

The collision happened at about 8.30am this morning on Bennetts Bank, Wellington, after a grey Audi collided with the 16-year-old boy.

The teenager was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulance after receiving treatment at the scene.

John Hawker, West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We had one ambulance at the scene, where they treated a 16-year-old boy for head and a arm injuries before taking him to hospital.

"However the boy's injuries do not appear to be life threatening."

Police were also at the scene directing traffic while the road between the Ketley Brook Roundabout and Haybridge Road was closed.

The fire service were also at the scene.
