The facade of Haybridge Hall in Hadley will be retained as part of a project to turn the former stately home into 10 affordable apartments for the elderly.
Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet last night agreed to provide £475,000 as part of a deal that will see Wrekin Housing Trust transform the Victorian building.
It comes just months after fears were raised the building, which dates back to 1870, could be demolished.
